The highlight of his career so far is a collection of 30 top-level wins, which puts him firmly in the company of jockeys who perform when it actually matters. Those victories have come at some of Britain's most prestigious venues — Ascot, York, and Haydock Park — with two Class 1 wins already on the board this summer, at Pontefract in July and York in August 2025. Winning at the top level once can be circumstance; doing it 30 times at those kinds of venues is evidence of a jockey who handles big occasions without shrinking.
His partnership with trainer David O'Meara is arguably the spine of his career. From 281 rides together they have produced 35 wins, roughly 1 in every 8 — a workmanlike but meaningful return from a high volume of shared rides. When a trainer keeps putting a jockey up that often, it tells you something about the trust that exists between them.
There are two areas where Tudhope genuinely stands out. The first is wet and muddy ground, where his numbers jump sharply: 12 wins from 46 races is a win rate of around 1 in every 4, well above his overall average. Some jockeys tolerate those conditions; he appears to thrive in them. The second is Ripon, a tight, idiosyncratic track in North Yorkshire where plenty of jockeys find it difficult to read the race. Tudhope has won 9 of his 20 races there — nearly half — which is the kind of figure that suggests genuine understanding of a specific venue, not luck. In racing, course specialists are real, and Ripon looks very much like his ground.
