Schrodinger's Cat

Both victories have arrived at Redcar, which is worth noting. The first came on 16 September 2025, and the second followed on 20 June 2026 — just three weeks ago. When a horse wins twice at the same track, it's not luck; there's something about that particular stretch of turf that suits how this horse moves and races. Redcar has a long, flat straight and tends to reward horses that travel smoothly and quicken late, and Schrodinger's Cat appears to be exactly that type.

The one puzzle is what happens when the grade steps up. In three races at Class 4 level — one rung above where the wins have come — the horse has drawn a blank, 0 from 3. That doesn't mean those races were disasters; placing is still placing, and the form figures suggest it has been competitive. But it does tell you the wins have come at a level where this horse has a genuine edge, not at the sharper end of the card. Grant Tuer's yard at Birkby in North Yorkshire has sent out 29 winners this season, so there's clearly a team here that knows how to place a horse in the right race at the right moment — and so far, Redcar seems to be the right place for this one.

Raced just yesterday and still active, Schrodinger's Cat is very much a horse in the middle of its story. At three years old, there's time to develop, and a trainer in form rarely leaves a winning formula alone. If it turns up at Redcar again, you'll know exactly what the plan is.
