The Ascot win is the headline. Class 2 races at one of Britain's most prestigious tracks are not handed out to average horses, and the fact that Roach Power landed one in the autumn of 2025 tells you there is genuine quality here. His trainer Michael Wigham, based at Newmarket in Suffolk, has described him as a quick horse who is effective at both six and seven furlongs — versatility that gives him options other horses simply do not have. Wigham's yard has sent out 12 winners already this season, so this is a stable in form, and Roach Power looks like one of the horses they are genuinely sweet on.

What is slightly curious is that his bread-and-butter racing tends to happen at Class 4 level — the kind of mid-tier races that form the backbone of the British season — yet he has won only 1 of 14 races at that level. That is a 7% win rate, barely 1 in 14, which on the face of it looks modest. But read it another way: a horse good enough to win at Ascot at the top level might simply find Class 4 races too competitive, full of horses trained specifically for that grade rather than the bigger occasions. He places plenty — 21 times in 44 races — so he is rarely out of the picture.

His most regular jockey is David Allan, who has won 2 of their 10 races together — winning roughly 1 in 5 rides, a respectable partnership. Roach Power last raced just yesterday, keeping his fitness ticking over, though his last win came at Newmarket back in October 2025. With a horse this consistent and a yard firing, it would be no surprise to see him find the winner's enclosure again before long.
