The highlights on his CV are genuinely striking. He broke his duck at Ripon back in August 2022 and has been building a resume ever since, but the standout moment came in October 2025 when he won a Class 2 race at Ascot — one of the top races in Britain, at one of its most famous venues. Getting to that level and winning there is not something most racehorses manage. It suggests that when conditions fall right, Roach Power is capable of something well above his usual level.

His usual level, to be honest, is Class 4 — the bread-and-butter middle tier of the sport — where he has won just 1 from 14 races, or about 1 in every 14 attempts at that grade. That might sound underwhelming, but it tells an interesting story: he is often competing against horses he perhaps should not beat, and yet he occasionally reaches into a higher register entirely and beats much better ones. Michael Wigham's yard at Newmarket has sent out 12 winners this season, so there is clearly form in the stable, and Roach Power fits the profile of a horse who rewards patience.

His most regular partner is jockey David Allan, who has ridden him 10 times and won twice together — a win rate of 20%, or 1 in every 5 rides, which is actually a healthy return. Wigham himself has noted that Roach Power is quick and effective at both six and seven furlongs, the kind of versatility that gives a trainer plenty of options. He last won at Newmarket seven months ago in late October 2025, and with his most recent form showing a mix of modest finishes alongside that earlier Ascot brilliance, the question is simply when he decides to produce the good version of himself again.
