He made his breakthrough at Ripon in August 2022, and that early win seemed to unlock something. Wigham noted that despite having won over seven furlongs, Roach Power is genuinely quick and equally effective at the shorter six-furlong distance—a useful versatility that has given the horse multiple opportunities to find a winning race.

What's telling about his recent career is that he has not won in his last six races, despite still being active and raced just a day ago. He has been placed four times in that stretch, so the form is not falling apart, but the wins have dried up. He typically runs in Class 4 races—the level below the elite—and wins only about one in every fourteen attempts at that standard. His most frequent jockey, David Allan, has ridden him to two wins from ten races together, a respectable 20 percent win rate. At seven years old, Roach Power is in the middle of his racing life, still capable of days like his Ascot victory, but increasingly living on those moments between stretches of honest, unremarkable racing.
