On slightly softer ground it goes 2 from 7, around 1 in 3.5. Put simply, when the ground is right, this horse is a serious player.

There is also a course worth watching. At Great Yarmouth, Level Up has won 2 of just 3 visits — a record that any trainer would circle in the diary. Some horses simply take to certain tracks, whether it is the shape of the bends, the camber of the ground, or something harder to explain. Whatever the reason, Yarmouth brings out the best in this one.

Trained by David Evans at his yard in Pandy, Monmouthshire — a team that has already sent out 37 winners this season, which speaks to a well-organised and productive operation — Level Up is most often partnered by Jordan Williams, who has won 3 of his 13 rides on the horse, roughly 1 in every 4. That is a meaningful partnership. Level Up's last win came at Chelmsford in October 2025, and recent form of 3-3-2-2-4-5 shows a horse that keeps hitting the frame without getting its head in front. It raced just yesterday, so it is fit, active, and clearly being placed with purpose. The win is overdue, but the pieces are there.
