The peak of the career came in the summer and autumn of 2022, when Lethal Nymph won two Class 2 races at Ascot within a month of each other — first in early September, then again at the end of that month. Class 2 races are among the better contests in British racing, so winning two of them at the same prestigious venue in quick succession is not something you see every day. Midgley has spoken openly about Ascot suiting the horse particularly well, and has mentioned the Wokingham — one of Royal Ascot's big sprints — as a longer-term target on fast summer ground. That kind of ambition from a trainer tells you something about how highly the horse is regarded at home.

Away from Ascot, Doncaster has also been kind to Lethal Nymph: 2 wins from just 5 races there, which works out at winning 2 in every 5 visits. That is a genuinely impressive record at a single track and suggests something about how the horse handles that particular course and straight. On normal ground, the numbers back up what the trainer says about preferring decent conditions — winning 2 from 10 races, or 1 in every 5, on a standard surface.

The most recent win came at Newcastle in November 2025, around eight months ago, and the last six runs have not produced a victory. A finishing position of second in the most recent of those suggests the spark is still there, though. P J McDonald has been the most successful jockey aboard, winning 2 of their 7 races together — that is nearly 1 in 3, a strong partnership by any measure. At seven years old and still racing — it ran just yesterday — Lethal Nymph remains a live contender at the level it knows best.
