That is the freshest possible evidence that Volto Di Medusa is in form right now, and it gives the whole profile a different complexion. Horses that win and then race again within days are generally in the kind of rhythm that trainers dream about.

Whether Volto Di Medusa can build on that and push into better company remains to be seen. The horse mostly competes at Class 5, which is the bread-and-butter level of British racing, and has won only 1 of 13 races there — just 8%. That gap between Class 5 results and the overall win record suggests that when things do click, they click at a higher level of consistency than the day-to-day results imply. For now, with a win on the board this week and a trainer in fine form, this is a horse worth watching closely over the coming weeks.
