The overall numbers tell a modest story: nine places and three wins from 35 races, a win rate of around 1 in 11. But context matters. Travis tends to compete at Class 5 level, the bread-and-butter end of the sport, and has won 2 of his 15 races there — about 1 in every 7 or 8, which is perfectly respectable at that grade. What lifts him above ordinary is that recent form. His last six runs read: second, fifth, two distant finishes, then a win, and most recently a third — which tells you this is a horse coming back to something like his best.

That win at Redcar just two weeks ago is the headline. It was his first victory since breaking his duck at Pontefract back in June 2024, meaning he went over a year between wins before finding the target again. Horses that keep placing without winning can sometimes frustrate, but Travis has been in the frame in 13 of his 35 races — that is a place in more than a third of his outings, which shows he is consistently competitive even when the win does not come.

His most regular partner is jockey David Allan, who has ridden him in 12 of those 35 races for a single win together — roughly 1 in 12. The pair know each other well by now. Harker's yard has been in decent nick this season, sending out 5 winners, and with Travis having raced as recently as yesterday, he is clearly in a busy spell. A five-year-old who just found his winning touch again, trained by a yard in form, and with a clear preference for conditions that come around regularly — there are worse horses to keep an eye on.
