Put another way, normal conditions suit Thyer far more than soft, heavy, or fast, dry surfaces do. Distance matters too. Over trips between seven furlongs and a mile, Thyer has managed one win from four races, suggesting that middle distance suits the horse better than either sprints or longer races. Both wins came at smaller tracks: the first at Thirsk on 1 September 2023, and the second at Windsor on 16 September 2024.
