Simiyann

The six-year-old is trained by Ian Williams at Portway in Worcestershire, a yard that has sent out 96 winners this season alone — a high-volume, professional operation that knows how to place its horses in the right races. Simiyann's career record of 4 wins and 11 places from 38 races tells the story of a horse that has competed consistently without ever threatening the top end of the sport. It has never gone away empty-handed in a meaningful proportion of its races — 15 times in 38 it has at least picked up a place — but wins have come at roughly one-in-nine, which is modest even at this level.

The most recent win came at Ffos Las in August 2025, and since then Simiyann has gone six races without getting back to the winner's enclosure. The last six results — a second and a fourth sandwiched around some difficult days — suggest a horse that is still competitive enough to place but not quite finding that winning gear. A second place finish most recently keeps it in the conversation, though.
