At that level it has won just 1 from 12, or roughly 1 in 12, which is modest. But then again, the recent form tells a more encouraging story: in its last six races it has finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 4th, 5th, and 7th reading backwards from now. The direction of travel is clearly upward.

One subplot worth noting: Trevor Whelan has ridden this horse 10 times without a win between them — 0 from 10. This week's winning ride was apparently with someone else in the saddle, which is a quietly pointed statistic. In racing, sometimes a small change like that is all it takes to unlock what a horse is already capable of. Whether that partnership shifts going forward will be worth watching. Right now, Roarin' Success is in form, active, and racing in conditions it tends to enjoy. That's a combination worth paying attention to.
