Mr Ubiquitous

Harry Eustace has him settled nicely at his Newmarket yard, which has been in fine form itself this season — 24 winners already, which tells you this is a team that knows how to have a horse ready on the day. Eustace sent Mr Ubiquitous out for his first career win at Kempton Park back in October 2024, and that venue has become something of a home from home. Two wins from just three races there is a striking record — horses that genuinely love a particular track are rarer than people think, and when you find one, you pay attention.

The ground conditions tell an interesting story too. On fast, dry ground he wins roughly half his races — three wins from six attempts. Switch to wet, slow ground and he becomes even more potent, winning two of his three tries in those conditions. What that suggests is a horse that simply needs the ground to have some character to it; he does not appear to be a fan of the middle ground where conditions are neither one thing nor the other.

His recent form reads 10-5-1-9-7-5 from his last six races, most recent first, which looks a little patchy at first glance. But that win — a first-place finish in there — came at Kempton Park in March, and he raced again just yesterday, so he is clearly being kept busy and in good shape. He typically lines up in Class 5 company, the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, where he wins roughly one in three, which is a healthy enough return at that level.

At four years old, Mr Ubiquitous is at an age where horses often start to develop real consistency. He already has the numbers to back up the name — he keeps showing up, and he keeps winning.
