His most recent win came six months ago at Lingfield Park, and since then he has finished second twice in his last six races — solid form that suggests he still has races in him. He clearly loves normal ground conditions, where he has won 3 of his 16 races (a 19% win rate), and he runs best over a mile and a quarter to a mile and a half, though even at those distances he wins only about 1 in every 10 races. He struggles badly in Class 2 company, where he has never won from 11 attempts, and that tells you exactly where his ceiling is.

Daniel and Claire Kubler, who train him from their Lambourn yard, have spoken positively about his prospects. They purchased him at a sales ring last autumn and said he is straightforward to work with and goes nicely at home. There are still nice races in him, they believe, and that prediction seems realistic given his recent form. He raced just yesterday, so he is an active member of the yard. Paul Mulrennan, his regular rider, has not had luck aboard him yet — five rides without a win — but that is racing. Londoner is a perfectly decent handicap horse doing what horses like him do: turning up, running honest races, and occasionally winning.
