Enemy

Eighteen of Enemy's 37 races have come in Class 2 company — among the better races in Britain — and the horse has won 2 of those, finishing in the places a further handful of times. A win rate of around 1 in 9 overall, with 4 wins and 10 placed efforts from 37 races, suggests a horse that is competitive without being dominant. That's not a criticism. Horses that keep showing up at this level, race after race, year after year, earn their respect.

The most recent win came on New Year's Day 2026 at Southwell — the kind of result that sticks in the memory — with the horse also having landed a Class 2 there in January 2024. The first career win came at Musselburgh in April 2022, also at Class 2 level, which tells you this horse broke through at the deep end and has stayed there. The horse raced just one day ago, which means there is clearly still plenty of petrol in the tank. At nine, Enemy isn't building toward anything — this is the career in full flight. And if the team points back toward Southwell on a decent surface, it would be foolish to look the other way.
