When he did show up, it was worth the wait. His first win came at Thirsk on 6 June 2025, and he followed it up just a week later at Chester on 13 June — two wins in seven days, the kind of purple patch that makes yards sit up and pay attention. Palmer said at the time he wouldn't rule out a third win if things fell right. At his preferred level — the lower-key Class 5 races, which sit towards the bottom of the racing pyramid — he has won 2 from 8, meaning he wins 1 in every 4 races at that level. That is a sharp number and suggests he is exactly the right horse in the right company when conditions line up.

Those conditions matter. On normal ground he has won 2 of his 11 races at that surface — again roughly 1 in 5 — and his trainer has noted he actually prefers a bit of softness underfoot, which is worth keeping in mind as the autumn season wears on.

Since that Chester win, though, it has been a quieter story. He has not won in his last 6 races, and a run in the Ayr Bronze Cup — a tougher, more competitive race against older horses — produced nothing, with his trainer admitting he simply never got going that day and couldn't explain why. Arabian Cobra is now listed for the sales, which means this chapter of his career may be drawing to a close. He is trained by Adrian Wintle at Westbury-on-Severn, a yard that has sent out 30 winners this season, so the support around him has been strong. Whether he gets one more chance to add to his tally before a potential change of hands remains to be seen — he raced just yesterday, so he is very much still in the mix.
