In the last six races, Adalida has won twice, including a victory at Great Yarmouth just this week. That kind of sharp upturn in form — two wins from six after a sluggish spell in the middle — is exactly what trainers hope to see as a young horse matures and finds its feet. The sequence reads 4th, 7th, 1st, 11th, 2nd, 1st from oldest to most recent, which tells its own story: an inconsistent horse finding a higher gear at just the right moment, with one bad day sandwiched between a win and a runner-up finish.

What makes that trajectory more credible is the yard behind it. Stuart Williams trains out of Newmarket — historically one of British racing's most important bases — and his team has sent out 67 winners already this season. That is a yard in form, which matters. Horses from busy, confident stables often benefit from a sharpness in preparation that shows up in their results.

There is one puzzle worth noting. Adalida has raced seven times at the level it most commonly enters and has yet to win at that grade — zero wins from seven attempts. Yet its two career wins have come elsewhere, suggesting it either steps up or finds different tracks more to its liking. Speaking of tracks: the first career win came at Lingfield Park in May, and the most recent at Great Yarmouth in July, two very different venues, which hints at a horse that is adaptable rather than dependent on one specific set of conditions.

Marco Ghiani has been the regular jockey, partnering Adalida in five of its races and winning once together — a 20% win rate in that partnership, which is actually stronger than the horse's overall record of 13%. With Adalida having raced just one day ago and clearly in the form of its life, whoever is watching closely will want to keep this one on their radar.
