Washington Royale has shown no progress across three races, finishing 4th, 5th, and 5th — he's yet to threaten the placings and his trainer Michael Appleby (71 winners) may have better tools in the box than this one. The draw (6) is mid-field and gives no advantage at Chepstow.

Beechwood Glory has shown real improvement — second at Ayr just 23 days ago, beaten by only 1.8 lengths — and his trainer John Butler's yard is firing with 39 winners already this season. The question is whether he can handle slightly soft ground for the first time, and his draw (7) isn't ideal at Chepstow.

Anna's form is mixed — a third at Newmarket shows promise, but she's drifted massively in the market (1.02 to 20.0) and hasn't raced in over three months, which is the longest layoff in the field. She's also never seen slightly soft ground and has zero wins from three races, making this a tough ask.

Texas Crown was desperately unlucky at Bath, losing by just 0.1 lengths and 0.5 lengths in back-to-back races — he clearly has ability but can't get his nose in front. The recent 11th at Salisbury is a concern, but his draws today (1) favours him at this course, and he's been close enough to win that his price (10.0) offers value.
