The more interesting picture emerges when you look at where and how Yakhabar wins. That is a meaningfully better record than its overall numbers suggest. This is a horse that needs time and space to do its best work; drop it back in distance and you are asking it the wrong question entirely.

Yakhabar has been in fine form lately. It won at Southwell just two weeks ago — its second win from the last 6 races — and is very much an active, competitive horse right now rather than one coasting on past results. That recent victory came roughly 13 months after its first career win at Newcastle in February 2024, which tells you this is not a horse that rattles wins off in quick succession, but it does find a way to the winner's enclosure when conditions suit.
