The most interesting thread runs through Southwell. Wonder has won 2 of just 4 races at that track — that is a 50% win rate, which is exceptional by any standard. To put it simply: flip a coin, and those are roughly the odds of Wonder winning every time it lines up there. The most recent of those wins came just six weeks ago, on 20 February 2026, so this is a horse in form right now. It raced again just yesterday, which tells you the team at Fanshawe's yard are keeping it busy while confidence is high.

Normal ground conditions are where Wonder does its best work — 3 wins from 12 races on a standard surface (25%, or 1 in every 4). Stretch it out to a mile and a furlong or a mile and two, and the numbers look even better: 1 win from just 3 races at that trip (33%). These are small sample sizes, but they point in a consistent direction. Jockey Dylan Hogan has been on board for 10 of Wonder's 18 races and has ridden 2 of its 3 career winners, winning at a rate of 1 in 5. That is a meaningful partnership built over time, and when the two come together at the right track, the results speak for themselves.

The one puzzle is that Wonder has yet to win at Class 4 level — the grade it most often competes at — going 0 from 9 at that level. Its wins have come elsewhere on the card. That is the kind of quirk that keeps racing interesting: a horse that struggles to land the races it enters most often, yet keeps finding a way to win somewhere. Fanshawe's yard has sent out 44 winners this season alone, so Wonder is part of a genuinely productive operation. A horse that won its first race at Wolverhampton in November 2024 and is still winning 15 months later has clearly found its feet. Southwell, in particular, seems to bring out the best in it.
