The six-year-old is trained by Thomas Faulkner out of a small yard in Devauden, Monmouthshire — not one of the big names, but a team that has sent out 16 winners this season, which tells you plenty about how well it is currently operating. The most recent of those winners was V Power itself, who scored at Wolverhampton just this week, racking up its third win at the same track where it all started on 12 January 2026. That kind of course form is not a fluke. Some horses simply suit a particular track — the bends, the surface, the way the race tends to unfold — and V Power has clearly found its home.

Jockey Zoe Lewis has been a big part of the story. In 6 races together the pair have won twice, a win rate of 33%, which is the sort of number that makes a trainer stick with a combination. When Lewis is booked and Wolverhampton is the destination, V Power has become something worth watching. The horse also performs well on normal ground, winning 3 of 9 races in those conditions — exactly the same 33% — which suggests it is not dependent on any particular quirk of weather to show its best.

What is striking, and a little puzzling, is that V Power has yet to win at Class 5, the level it most often runs at — 0 from 6 at that grade. All three wins have come elsewhere, suggesting the horse perhaps shows up best when the race is run differently, or the field shapes up in a particular way. Whatever the explanation, its recent form of two wins from the last six races shows a horse that is bang in form. It raced just yesterday, which means it is as live a proposition as they come right now.
