Two Tribes

Richard Spencer's Newmarket yard has been in fine form this season, sending out 27 winners, and Two Tribes has been one of the yard's headline acts. After a first career win at Sandown Park back in August 2023, there was a long wait for the horse to rediscover that level. Then, in the space of just seven days in late July 2025, something clicked. Two Tribes won a top-level Class 2 race at Ascot on 26 July — one of the most competitive venues in British racing — and followed it up with another Class 2 win at Goodwood on 2 August. Back-to-back victories at two of the most prestigious tracks in the country is not something that happens by accident. That is a horse hitting its peak at exactly the right moment.

The ground plays a significant role in bringing out the best in Two Tribes. On normal conditions, the record reads 3 wins from 9 races — 33%, or roughly 1 in every 3. That is a striking number for a horse that otherwise wins around 1 in 7. Get the ground right and you are looking at a completely different animal. Class 2 races — the level just below the very top races in Britain — have been Two Tribes' home for most of its career: 2 wins from 15 races at that level, which is a 13% win rate, or just under 1 in every 8. Those races are brutally competitive, which makes winning two of them in quick succession all the more impressive.

Recent form reads 11-11-2-1-5-10, with that standout win at Meydan in January 2026 showing this horse can travel and perform on an international stage. Two Tribes last raced 23 days ago and remains active, so there is almost certainly more to come from a horse that has only recently started making good on its potential.
