Stratocracy

The horse runs best on normal, standard ground: it has won two of eight races (25%) on those conditions, which is a respectable win rate and nearly double its overall record. More striking still is its record in Class 5 races, where it has won three of fifteen times (20%)—a proper sweet spot for this horse. Stratocracy's only win in the last nine months came at Chelmsford on 27 November 2025, suggesting that despite the long drought, the horse retains ability at the right level and on the right surface. The real breakthrough came much earlier, with a first career win at Ripon on 5 August 2024, but the consistency has proven harder to find since.

There is one significant bright spot in the record: jockey Jack Mitchell has ridden Stratocracy to victory twice from just six races together (33%), a partnership that far outperforms the horse's overall form. When Mitchell is in the saddle, this horse has a genuine chance. Stratocracy is trained by Kevin and Lauren Frost at Averham Park in Nottinghamshire, a yard that has sent out only three winners all season, so the horse represents solid mid-tier material rather than a rising star. Still, it races actively—it was out just yesterday—and in Class 5 company on normal ground with Mitchell aboard, it remains capable of returning to the winner's circle.
