The horse has shown one glimmer of form worth noting. In the spring of 2026, Scarfo posted a win at Chepstow on June 6th, its most recent victory. That win came three months ago, but since then it has struggled. Over its last six outings, it has raced anywhere from 2nd to 6th place, with a 2nd place finish mixed in there—close but not close enough. This current losing streak suggests the horse is treading water at the sort of lower-level races where it typically competes.

Trainer Bernard Llewellyn's yard at Fochriw in Mid Glamorgan has found its way into the winner's circle 12 times this season, so it is not a struggling operation. Yet Scarfo, raced primarily in Class 6 company where it has won just once from 26 attempts, has never quite given Llewellyn a horse he can rely on. The horse performs best at distances between seven furlongs and a mile—winning just once from 12 races at that trip—and has been ridden most frequently by Jason Hart, though that partnership has produced no victories from five attempts. Scarfo races actively, as evidenced by its start just yesterday, and remains in work. For a horse with a 5% win rate, Scarfo is the sort that keeps its trainer and its regular rider looking for the next opportunity rather than expecting one to arrive.
