Rising Force

The bulk of Rising Force's career has been spent in Class 6 company — the entry level of British racing — and that is where it has done its best work, winning 5 of its 30 races at that level. A 17% win rate in Class 6 races, better than 1 in 6, is not to be sniffed at. It suggests a horse that knows its grade and competes honestly within it.

What makes Rising Force interesting right now is the recent form. Two wins from the last six races, including a victory at Thirsk in May, tells you this is a horse in good order. Look at the numbers: the two most recent results are a fifth and a fourth, which after back-to-back wins is nothing alarming — some horses simply need a run or two to fill their tanks again. Rising Force raced just one day ago, which means the yard at Newmarket is keeping this horse busy and clearly believes it has more to give.

The partnership with jockey Mr Henry Callan is worth noting. Three wins from eight rides together — that is winning 38% of the time, or close to 2 in every 5 races — is a remarkable ratio. When those two team up, something tends to happen. Trainer John Butler has had a strong season with 39 winners, and a yard running at that kind of output tends to know exactly when and where to place a horse for maximum effect.

Rising Force is not a headline act. It started winning at Chelmsford back in September 2023, has worked its way through the ranks steadily since, and now sits as a reliable, active competitor whose best days may still be ahead. For a horse with over 50 races in its legs, that is genuinely encouraging.
