The first win came at Chester in September 2025, and Playtime followed that up with a second victory six months ago at Leopardstown in March 2026. Since then, nothing. The last six races have brought no wins, though two thirds and two seconds suggest the horse isn't completely out of form—it just hasn't quite managed to get back in the winner's circle. That's a tough stretch, and it speaks to how hard it is at this level to string together consistent results.

Where Playtime shows genuine promise is over the longer distances. When racing at 1m6f to 2m, the horse has won 1 of every 5 races (20 percent), which is twice its overall win rate. That's the kind of clue a trainer lives for—a distance where a horse seems to find another gear. It also performs noticeably better in Class 4 races, again winning at 20 percent, compared to its overall 10 percent. Put those two things together, and you start to see what Elliott's team is probably working toward: a horse that might yet deliver value if dropped into the right race at the right distance.

The horse was active just yesterday, so it's clearly still in training and still trying. At five years old, with twenty races under its belt and a modest record, Playtime is the kind of horse that lives on the edge between potential and resignation. But it has won races, and twice at that. In a sport where consistency is the enemy of fortune, that's worth remembering.
