Both wins have come at tracks worth noting. Class 2 means one of the better races in Britain, below only the very top tier. Winning one at Haydock, over a mile and three to four furlongs of racing, tells you this horse has genuine quality. At that trip, it has won 1 from 3 races (33%) — a distance that clearly suits the way it travels and finishes.

That Haydock win came under the care of Andrew Balding, one of the most productive trainers in Britain right now. Based at Kingsclere in Hampshire, his yard has sent out 204 winners this season alone — a number that reflects serious organisation, depth of talent, and a team that knows how to place horses where they can win. When a yard of that size and quality keeps running a horse in Class 2 company, it usually means they believe the horse is good enough to hold its own there — and Plage De Havre has proven exactly that.

The one thing to keep in mind is that this horse hasn't raced for roughly eight months, returning from a significant break. That's not necessarily a concern — Balding's team clearly know how to manage a horse properly — but it means the first run back will tell us a lot. If Plage De Havre comes back anywhere near the level it showed at Haydock, there could be more wins to come at a good level. A 25% win rate from four attempts at Class 2 racing (1 win from 4) is genuinely respectable, and with another year of experience ahead, this horse looks like one worth following.
