But the picture is a little more interesting than that. She has placed six times without winning, which means she keeps running into the frame without quite getting there. At Class 5 level — the bread and butter of British racing, where most horses spend their working lives — she has won just 1 of her 12 races at that grade, an 8% win rate. That is not a dominant record, but it suggests she belongs in those races and is competitive when conditions are right. Camacho, who has sent out 46 winners from her yard this season alone, is clearly no stranger to placing horses to win. When a trainer of that calibre says a horse "is very capable and can definitely win off her mark," it is worth paying attention.
The real question is when. The most recent form makes for slightly mixed reading — she finished fourth last time out, which is a step forward from a couple of eighth-place finishes before that, and she was second just a few runs back. She raced just yesterday, so she is as fit and current as she could be. Camacho has hinted that she could "pop up at a price one day," which is trainer-speak for a horse whose best is still out there waiting to happen. At six years old, she is not getting any younger, but she is also still active and competing regularly. One of those six placed finishes might yet turn into something more — and if it does, Haydock Park feels like the obvious place to look.
