Back-to-back runner-up finishes suggest she is competitive enough at her level — she just keeps finding one too good. The step back to sixth in her most recent outing, just one day ago, is the one blot, though it is worth noting she has been kept busy and is clearly a durable sort who the yard are happy to keep running.

She operates almost exclusively at Class 6, the entry-level tier of British racing, and has drawn a blank in all six races at that level. That is not a disaster — plenty of horses take time to find their moment — but it does mean she is yet to prove she can win even at the softest available level of competition. The optimistic read is that a win at this grade is well within reach given how often she places. The honest read is that she has had her chances and not taken them. Somewhere between those two views is probably the truth, and only the next few races will tell us which version of Molly Mac shows up.
