Metaverse

The horse has been dormant in the winner's circle for nearly a year and a half. Its last success came on 21 April 2025 at Kempton Park, and since then it has managed nothing better than a couple of third-place finishes in its last six runs. Most of those recent races have been at Class 4 level — the bread-and-butter tier where Metaverse has won just once from 12 attempts, suggesting it finds this level competitive. That narrow track record at Class 4 tells you this is a horse without much margin for error.

There are two threads of hope for David Menuisier's yard. Metaverse thrives when the ground is soft or heavy, winning 2 of 9 races (22%) on wet or muddy surfaces — nearly double its overall win rate. More encouraging still is its record at Kempton Park, where it has won twice in ten races and clearly suits that particular track layout. With the winter season coming and unpredictable weather, a return to soft ground at Kempton could give Metaverse a genuine chance to break a long losing streak. Kyle Strydom, its most frequent rider, has won once from five rides together, but the partnership has not yet clicked consistently enough to suggest it is a magic formula.
