The most recent chapter is genuinely interesting. Londoner won at Lingfield Park just this week — on 3rd April 2026 — which is about as current as form gets. Factor in a recent run sequence of 1-2-3-3-12-10 (reading from the win backwards through the last six races) and you can see a horse that has come back from a rough patch to land a blow at exactly the right moment. Whatever the yard at Lambourn has been doing, something has clicked.

Daniel and Claire Kubler's operation is worth paying attention to. Based in Lambourn, Berkshire — one of Britain's great racing villages — they have sent out 33 winners already this season, which is a yard in form. Londoner is one of their more experienced performers, and that Lingfield win suggests the team know how to place this horse to its strengths.

Those strengths are fairly specific. On normal ground conditions, Londoner has won 3 of its 14 races — a 21% win rate, or better than 1 in 5. That is a meaningful edge; plenty of horses never find a surface they genuinely thrive on. The preferred trip is also clear: at a mile and three to four furlongs, the horse has won 2 of 16 races (12%), suggesting it wants that extra distance to really get into its stride. The one puzzle is Class 2 races, which are among the better contests in Britain — Londoner has run 11 times at that level without winning. That does not mean a win at the top level is impossible, but it does suggest the horse is most dangerous when stepped slightly back down in grade.

Regular partner Paul Mulrennan has yet to find the winning thread in their five races together, so it is worth noting who is in the saddle when Londoner next lines up. This is a horse with a very specific profile — normal ground, a mile and a half, the right class — and when all those factors align, it clearly knows how to win.
