Goldie's operation is clearly in fine form right now — 88 winners this season alone — and Jordan Electrics has been one of the horses that built that reputation. The most striking thing about him is what he has done at Hamilton Park specifically. His first win there came in June 2022, and he clearly never forgot the place: he returned to win back-to-back Class 1 and 2-level races there in July and August 2024, carrying significant weight in the process. Goldie remarked afterwards that it was "amazing" what he achieved under that burden — and that at 10, a horse is technically supposed to be slowing down. Jordan Electrics, apparently, hasn't been told that.
The partnership with jockey Paul Mulrennan is one of the more remarkable numbers in his record. Together they have won 7 from 16 races — that's nearly half the time they've lined up together, a remarkable ratio that suggests the two genuinely suit each other. On fast, dry ground, he wins 6 from 18 races, or 1 in 3 — well above his overall rate — which tells you everything about when to pay attention. At Carlisle, he has won 2 of only 3 visits, making him about as close to a banker as this sport allows.
He hasn't won in his last six races, and his most recent form figures — finishing 14th twice before creeping back into contention — suggest he's been finding his way back to his best. Goldie has confirmed the horse picked up an injury and needed time, but was clear it's not career-ending. The targets are the Ayr Gold Cup and potentially the Portland — two of the most competitive sprint handicaps in the calendar. It's an ambitious double, and Goldie himself admits it's usually one or the other. But with Jordan Electrics apparently mellowing with age rather than fading, and a horse that has already proved he can win at the top level, he deserves to be taken seriously when conditions are right.
