Put him on fast, dry ground and he becomes noticeably better—he has won seven races from 20 attempts on such conditions, a 35% win rate that jumps out against his overall average. Jim Goldie's yard at Uplawmoor has sent out 88 winners this season, and Jordan Electrics is among his most reliable performers.

Paul Mulrennan has been his partner for many of those wins: the pair have combined for seven victories from 17 races together, a remarkable 41% win rate that suggests genuine understanding between horse and rider. Goldie's ambitions for him remain alive despite his age. The trainer is targeting either the Ayr Gold Cup or the Portland—races of genuine prestige—and has acknowledged that at this stage of his career, Jordan Electrics "isn't supposed to be diminishing," yet somehow he is. Recent form shows a third place one week, then two tenth-place finishes, but also a fourth and a win, which is the pattern of a horse still fighting at the sharp end but no longer infallible.
