Indian Run

The five-year-old has gone quiet since his last win at Thirsk three months ago, though he's been racing regularly — his last six outings show two third-place finishes, a second, and a couple of lower placings. At Class 2 level, where he typically competes, he's won just once from nine attempts. Daniel Tudhope, his most frequent rider, has a much better record with him: winning twice from five races together, a 40% win rate that hints he brings something out of Indian Run that doesn't always materialise with other jockeys.

Julie Camacho trains him from Norton in North Yorkshire, and her stable is in good form with 46 winners this season. Camacho clearly sees potential: she's noted he wouldn't want soft ground, suggesting he's a horse with preferences, and that he had his wind tweaked after a disappointing run at Windsor. The language around Indian Run carries a note of "nearly there" — a horse with talent that hasn't yet clicked consistently, but capable of showing up on the day when conditions and the race itself align. At 5, he's old enough to know his trade but perhaps still young enough to improve if his the yard can solve the puzzle of consistency.
