Golden Circet

The horse's most recent win came 14 months ago at Epsom Downs on 10 July 2025, and that remains his last taste of victory. Since then, he has raced six times without winning, though his recent form shows he remains competitive: a couple of fourth-place finishes in his last six runs suggest he is still in the mix. Trained by Jim and Suzi Best at their yard near Lewes in East Sussex, Golden Circet is part of a stable that has already sent out 13 winners this season, so he sits among decent company.

The real pattern in Golden Circet's career emerges when you look at what suits him. On normal ground, he wins one race in four — significantly better than his overall rate — which makes him worth watching when the track is neither too soft nor too hard. More striking still is his form over 1m1f to 1m2f, where he has won two of his five races. That 40% win rate at that distance is genuinely strong, and suggests that when the ground is right and the trip is right, Golden Circet can deliver. Curiously, he has never won in eight races at Class 4 level, the highest grade he contests, which may reflect the stiffer competition there. He races regularly — he ran just a day ago — so opportunities will keep coming. The next time he lines up on normal ground and over a mile and a quarter, he will be worth backing.
