In the last six races, there's been one win and a second place, but also a couple of well-beaten runs, including a 14th last time out. That kind of variance is normal for a young horse still finding its feet, but it suggests Ghost Mode is not yet the kind of horse you'd back with absolute confidence every time it heads to the track. The real story is what happened earlier in the year: a first career win at Chester in September 2025, followed by another Class 2 victory at the same track, gives the horse a genuine strength at that venue. At Chester specifically, Ghost Mode has won 2 of 3 races, a win rate that any trainer would treasure.

Andrew Balding's yard at Kingsclere has had an outstanding season with 202 winners, and Ghost Mode fits the profile of a horse this operation develops well — not a headline act, but a genuinely competitive animal that keeps finding the winners' enclosure. For a three-year-old still figuring out its best distance and conditions, that's encouraging. The horse raced only yesterday, so it's being campaigned actively. Whether Ghost Mode will step up to win more at Class 2 level or settle as a useful performer at a slightly lower tier remains to be seen, but it has already proved it belongs in proper races.
