The horse has been racing since the summer of 2022, when he broke his duck at Ayr over four years ago, and he shows no sign of slowing down. His recent form reads like a seasoned campaigner's: a win last week, then a second, a run back in the field, a couple more mid-pack efforts. Tom Eaves has ridden him 12 times and won once aboard, a partnership that speaks to Feel The Need's role as a reliable secondary option rather than a jockey's go-to mount. What sets him apart, though, is his obvious affection for Southwell — that's where he took the tape this week, and jockey Andrea Pinna once noted after a run at York that the horse "loves this track and keeps on getting better with age." That's the kind of comment that separates a plodder from a genuine racehorse: he still has something to give, and he knows how to use his experience when conditions suit.
