Where Fasol has really come alive is at Class 3 level — one of the better grades of race below the top tier. Two wins from just 6 races at that level works out to 33%, or 1 in every 3 races, which is an unusually strong conversion rate. Many horses at this standard win once every 5 or 6 races in the same company. That number suggests Fasol is right at home competing here rather than being outclassed or coasting against weaker opposition.

The recent form tells an interesting story too. Buried in the last six runs — reading back through the sequence — are back-to-back wins before a couple of fourth-placed finishes and a seventh most recently. The wins came at Taunton in March 2025 and then at Musselburgh on New Year's Day 2026, a Scottish course more than 400 miles from Fasol's home base in Somerset. That Musselburgh win feels like a statement — a horse willing to travel and perform on a big occasion rather than just doing its best work on familiar turf.

The yard behind Fasol is Paul Nicholls' famous operation at Ditcheat in Somerset, one of the most successful training yards in the country. With 95 winners sent out this season alone, Nicholls runs a large, competitive string, and a horse that holds its own in that environment earns its keep. Regular jockey Harry Cobden has ridden Fasol eight times for a single win together — 1 from 8, roughly 12% — though those statistics probably undersell a partnership that has kept producing placed efforts.

Fasol last raced just 15 days ago and is currently active, so there is likely more to come from this horse before the season is out.
