She got off the mark at Great Yarmouth in August 2025, and from there things have moved quickly. Three of her last six races have ended in the winner's enclosure, and her recent form reading — 8-4-1-3-1-1 — tells its own story. Those two consecutive wins buried in the sequence show a horse who was hitting top form, and while the last couple of outings have been more mixed, a fourth-place finish last time out is hardly a disaster. She raced just yesterday, so she's very much in the middle of her campaign right now.

At the level she typically competes at, she's been almost unbeatable, winning 2 of her 4 races at that tier — a 50% win rate that is frankly exceptional. Winning half your races at any level is the kind of record that makes people take notice. The question now is whether the yard — sorry, whether her trainer Philip McBride — decides to test her at a higher level, or keeps her in races where she has a genuine chance of adding to her tally.

McBride operates out of Newmarket in Suffolk, one of the most competitive training centres in Britain, and his yard has sent out 12 winners already this season. That's a stable in decent form, and Elara May has clearly been one of their star performers. Her last win came at Chelmsford in October 2025, so while the winning habit is established, there's a question mark over whether she can rediscover that winning thread after a run of less convincing efforts. At three, though, she has plenty of time to answer it.
