At Kempton Park, Early Release has found another sweet spot, winning two of four races there and building a useful record at a track that suits its running style. The most recent victory came back in late May at Bath, four months ago now, which means there's time to make up. The last six races tell a story of mixed form—a win on that May day followed by finishes of seventh, first place again, fifth, sixth, and eighth most recently—but consistency in mid-field finishes (three consecutive sixth or eighth-place efforts) is often a sign a horse needs fresher legs or different ground conditions to spark again.

David Evans, the trainer at Pandy in Monmouths, has built a productive yard this season with 37 winners already, and Jordan Williams has ridden Early Release five times, winning once together at a 20% win rate. The partnership suggests Evans and Williams see something in this horse worth persisting with—and on the evidence of those soft-ground wins and the Kempton record, they are probably right. Early Release may never be a horse for the biggest races, but it remains genuinely competitive at Class 6 level, where it has converted three wins from 11 attempts, a 27% success rate that puts it well above the average for that grade.
