The highlight so far came at Worcester on 5th September 2025, when Dartmouth Jet took its first career win. Worcester is a flat, galloping track that suits horses who travel smoothly and quicken well, so getting off the mark there is a decent benchmark. That win was eight months ago now, and the recent form since then tells an interesting story: the numbers running back from the most recent race read 8-6-3-1, meaning Dartmouth Jet has been working its way forward steadily. Third last time, sixth before that, then eighth — it's the kind of sequence that looks inconsistent at first glance, but flip it around and you can see a horse that won, then went through a rougher patch, and is now knocking on the door again with that third-place finish most recently.
The trainer is John Mackie, based at Church Broughton in Derbyshire. Mackie's yard has sent out 15 winners already this season, which signals a stable in decent form — horses coming out of there are fit and ready. Dartmouth Jet raced just yesterday, so it's very much in the mix right now rather than a horse being freshened up for something down the line.
With only four career races to its name, there's still plenty to learn about what Dartmouth Jet is capable of, but the foundations are there: a winner already, placed twice more, and trained by a yard hitting its stride this season.
