The numbers bear this out. Over distances between seven furlongs and a mile, Dandy Khan wins roughly one in every four races (four wins from sixteen). Outside those parameters, it struggles to win at all. Its record across thirty-five career races stands at five wins and twelve places — a 14% win rate overall — but that masks the sharp split between its form at Lingfield and elsewhere. It was last in the winner's circle six months ago, also at Lingfield on 28 February, and has not won in its last six runs, though it has placed in three of them. That suggests a horse that can still run respectably but is finding wins harder to come by now.
The consistency is real enough at its level. Class 6 racing — the lower end of British racing — has seen Dandy Khan win five of its twenty races there, maintaining that same 25% win rate. It is the sort of horse that knows its place in the racing world and performs well within it: dependable, predictable, and effective at one track. Last raced just a day ago, it remains active and competing, though the dry spell since February hints that Jim Boyle's yard may be managing expectations carefully. For a horse that turns up week after week, Dandy Khan is doing what many four-year-olds cannot — finding the same track and distance that bring out its best.
