Rod Millman trains him from a yard in Kentisbeare, Devon, and the operation is clearly humming along — 42 winners sent out this season alone. Millman picked Curran up at a Horses in Training sale last winter, spotting what he felt was a bargain after the horse had done well for his previous trainer Charlie Johnston. The trainer's thinking was straightforward: get some fun races into him, particularly over longer distances around a mile and six furlongs to two miles, and let him find the right opportunities. That plan appears to be working. Class 4 races — the bread and butter of the British racing calendar, competitive but not quite the top tier — have been his hunting ground, and he has won 2 from 13 at that level, a rate of roughly 1 in 6.

Joe Fanning rides him most often, the pair having teamed up 12 times with 2 wins together. That is a 17% win rate between them — just under 1 in 6 — and the partnership looks settled and consistent. Curran got his career off the ground at Newcastle back in September 2023, and he has been adding to that tally steadily ever since. Having raced just one day ago, he is very much in the thick of his season right now. The Bath win five weeks back suggests he is in good heart, and with a trainer who clearly knows exactly what kind of races suit him, Curran looks like the sort of horse who will keep popping up and winning when conditions fall right.
