Two wins in five weeks suggested a horse finding its stride. That is a meaningfully better record than the overall average and worth keeping in mind as the seasons change.

The partnership with jockey William Pyle has produced the best results of anything on the stat sheet. Together they have won 2 races from 8 — 1 in every 4 — which is a noticeably strong record for this level. When Pyle is booked, people should pay attention. Trainer Katie Scott operates out of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, and the yard has hit 17 winners this season, which suggests a team in good form and confident about the horses they are sending out.

The recent run of results tells a more complicated story. The last six races read 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 11th, and then — a win at Musselburgh in August 2025. That win ended what had been a frustrating sequence and proved the ability is still there. Since then, four races back into the placings and just outside them. Curious Rover raced only yesterday and is clearly a horse being kept busy. The talent showed at Haydock has not gone anywhere — the question is simply when the planets align again: the wet ground, the right track, and Pyle in the saddle.
