Cargin Bhui

Trained by David and Nicola Barron at Maunby in North Yorkshire, Cargin Bhui claimed his maiden win on 5 January 2024 at Wolverhampton and has since added victories at the same track and at Southwell. However, his last success came eight months ago, and his form in the past six races reads 5–11–5–5–––1, a sequence of mid-field and placed efforts that hints at a horse struggling to find the winning post. He competes regularly at Class 5, where he has won 2 of 10 races (20%), and the consistency of his efforts—mostly places and occasional fifth-place finishes—suggests he remains competitive but has lost whatever edge carried him to victory earlier in the year. Ridden most often by Callum Rodriguez, the pair have never won together from seven attempts, which may point to a need for different tactics or a jockey change. With the yard firing (15 winners this season), Cargin Bhui will hope for a return to the winners' circle soon.
