Trained by David O'Meara at Upper Helmsley in North Yorkshire, Capital Guarantee is part of one of the most productive yards in the country right now. O'Meara's team have sent out 107 winners this season alone — that is a remarkable number and reflects an operation that knows how to place horses where they can win. Capital Guarantee is a typical product of that philosophy: a tough, consistent competitor placed carefully at Class 4 level, where it has won 4 of its 16 races at that grade, a win rate of 25%, or 1 in every 4.

The ground matters a lot with this horse. On dry, fast ground it has won 3 from 12, and on normal conditions it has done exactly the same — 3 from 12, both at 25%. What it has never been asked to do, or at least never thrived doing, is handle wet or muddy conditions. Keep it on decent ground and it is a genuine threat. Thirsk appears to bring out the best in it too — 2 wins from just 6 visits there is a strong record and suggests the track suits its style particularly well.

The current form dip is worth acknowledging. Capital Guarantee has not won in its last six races, with a second place at Ripon in August 2025 the closest it has come since its last victory there the same day. It raced just yesterday, which means the yard is keeping it busy and active. Horses go through patches, and with the right ground conditions, the right track, and Tudhope back aboard, there is every reason to think another win is not far away.
