Cameley Days

The recent form makes uncomfortable reading. In its last six outings, Cameley Days has managed just two placed efforts—a third and a second—while finishing eighth and fifth in other races, with two runs that placed it well down the field. It raced just yesterday, which shows it is being kept active by trainer Chris Dwyer at Newmarket, but the pattern is clear: after that May win at Windsor, something has shifted. The horse is not finding the winner's circle, though it has shown enough consistency to suggest it is not entirely out of form—two placings in six races means it is still competitive, just not winning.

Dwyer's yard at Newmarket has sent out eight winners this season, so there is competence there, but Cameley Days appears to have become one of those horses that earns its keep without ever quite justifying the time and expense. Three wins from eighteen races represents a win rate of 17 percent, solid enough for a horse at its level but hardly the stuff of genuine promise. The first of those wins came at Great Yarmouth in late October 2025, and while it has tasted victory twice since, the gaps between those wins are widening. Unless it finds another gear, Cameley Days looks destined to remain what it is: a reliable lower-tier runner that occasionally breaks through, more often does not, and fades a little more with each unrewarded effort.
