The recent form makes for interesting reading. Over the last six races, Bullington Bry has finished 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 3rd, 4th, and 5th — reading from most recent backwards. That second place finish three days ago shows this horse is bang in form and very much still racing. The pattern here is one of a horse hovering just outside the places that matter most, competitive enough to stay involved but not yet finding that extra gear when it counts.
Most of Bullington Bry's racing has come at Class 6 level, which is the entry level of British racing — the kind of races where everyone is looking for a first win or trying to build confidence. From nine races at that level, the record reads zero wins from nine attempts, which is a tough statistic to look past. At some point a horse needs to convert those placings into victories, and Class 6 is the level where that really ought to be happening.
The trainer is Joey Ramsden, who operates out of Newark in Nottinghamshire. The yard has sent out five winners already this season, so there is form in the operation — Ramsden clearly knows how to get a horse to win. The challenge now is finding the right opportunity for Bullington Bry to finally break through. With seven places already banked, the talent is clearly there in some form. It just needs everything to fall right on the day.
