Baker Blue

Trained by Dylan Cunha at Newmarket, one of Britain's most famous racing towns, Baker Blue operates in what you'd call the solid middle tier of the sport — Class 4 racing, where competition is genuine but not yet at the elite level. In those races, the record reads one win from four attempts, which works out at 25%, or roughly one in every four. That's a decent return at that level, and suggests the horse is broadly running where it belongs rather than being thrown in too deep.

The two career wins are nicely spread. The first came at Southwell in December 2025, then a second followed at Wolverhampton in February 2026 — two all-weather tracks that run through the winter months when most grass courses are shut. That five-month gap since the last win is worth noting, though Baker Blue raced just one day ago, so this is very much a horse in active campaign rather than one being rested and freshened up.

What's curious is the partnership with jockey Shane Foley. The two have raced together six times without a win to show for it — not a disaster, but not a combination that has clicked yet either. Foley is an experienced rider, so the 0-from-6 record says more about the opportunities arising than any lack of skill. The two wins came with different riders in the saddle.

Cunha's yard has been in good form this season, sending out 45 winners — a strong tally that suggests a confident, well-organised operation. For Baker Blue, the recent form figures of 2-2-2-10-2-2 (reading back from the most recent) tell their own story: a horse that keeps finishing second but hasn't quite managed to get its nose in front. At three, there's still time to add to that tally, and a yard firing on all cylinders is exactly the right place to be when the right race comes along.
