Another Mystery

His most recent stretch has been mixed. In his last six races he has finished second once and third once, with a couple of blank runs mixed in, but that second-place finish came at the back of a sixteenth and a seventh, so he is not putting together a sustained run. His last win came at Fakenham six months ago, and since then he has simply not found his way into the winners' enclosure again. Most of his racing has come in Class 5 territory — the lower grades — where he has won just once from 14 starts, managing 7 percent in that company. When he does get a win, it tends to be a proper achievement. He won his first race at Market Rasen in May 2023, and his partnership with jockey Bryony Frost has been modest: one win from seven rides together, the same 14 percent win rate he carries overall. At this stage of his career, with three wins from 22 races, Another Mystery is a horse who knows how to win but does not do it often enough to be a reliable proposition. The fact that he is still racing suggests his yard backs him to find another moment, but a six-month gap since his last victory is a long time in racing.
