Another Mystery

Trained by Sarah Humphrey out of a small yard in West Wratting, Cambridgeshire, Another Mystery is part of a setup that has quietly sent out 8 winners this season — a decent haul for a trainer operating outside the sport's big names. Humphrey clearly knows how to place a horse well, and Another Mystery has been a steady contributor to that tally. The horse's most recent win came at Fakenham in April 2026, just two months ago, which means it is heading into its current run of races in form rather than chasing its best days.

Most of those runs have come at Class 5 level — the lower end of the racing ladder, where the competition is more modest and horses tend to race frequently. At that level, Another Mystery has won just 1 from 14 races, which on the face of it sounds underwhelming. But those 14 races also include 9 places, and that volume of minor money suggests a horse that rarely runs a bad race. It simply meets horses on the day who edge it out. Jockey Bryony Frost, one of the most recognisable names in jump racing, has been in the saddle for 7 of those outings and won once aboard the horse — the same 1-in-7 ratio that reflects the overall picture.

Recent form makes for interesting reading. Going back six races from most recent, the sequence reads 5-1-2-6-7-3 — a win and two places sandwiched around a couple of quieter efforts. That is not the form of a horse going backwards. If anything, the return to the winner's enclosure at Fakenham and the placed effort before last suggest Another Mystery still has competitive runs left in it. Having raced as recently as yesterday, this is a horse very much in the middle of its season — not winding down, but turning up and getting the job done.
