Patrick John Kiely

The horse he has worked with most is Lion Of The Desert, who has run four times under Kiely's care without getting off the mark. Four races together makes them his most consistent partnership so far, even if the wins have not arrived yet. That kind of repetition with one horse usually means the trainer believes there is something worth persisting with — a result that could come at any point.

There is simply not enough of a record yet to draw firm conclusions about where Kiely's strengths lie or which types of race suit his horses best. What is clear is that he is in the early stages of building something, and the story is very much still being written.
