Zipster

The distance sweet spot is clear. At a mile and a furlong to a mile and two furlongs, Zipster has won 3 of its 17 races at those trips — that is about 1 in every 6, which is a noticeably better return than its overall record suggests. When the race is set up to suit, this horse delivers. Stray outside that range and you are likely to be disappointed.

The last win came at Killarney in July 2025, and since then Zipster has gone six races without adding to the tally. That said, the recent form figures of 3-3-3-9-10-3 tell a more nuanced story than a simple winless run might suggest. Strip out two off-days — the ninth and tenth — and what you have is a horse finishing third in four of its last six races. It is knocking on the door without quite managing to open it.

Zipster operates mainly at Class 5 level, which is the bread-and-butter tier of British racing — competitive enough, but not the glamour end of the sport. One win from nine races at that level, around 1 in 9, suggests it is competitive there without dominating. Gerard O'Leary's yard in Kildare has been in decent form this season, sending out 11 winners, and Zipster raced just yesterday, so it is clearly fit and active. The question is whether the horse can find the small improvement needed to get its nose in front again, or whether those third-place finishes become the defining feature of this chapter of its career.
