Yes Indeed

Both of those wins came in 2025, which is the most interesting thread in this story. The first arrived at Stratford-on-Avon in March, and the second followed just a month later at Newton Abbot in April. Two wins in five weeks after what had presumably been a long wait — that's a horse who found something, briefly but genuinely. The trouble is, that Newton Abbot win was now 14 months ago, and the six races since have produced nothing better than a third place.

The partnership with jockey Jonjo O'Neill Jr hasn't clicked on paper — zero wins from 12 races together. That's not necessarily a damning statistic; plenty of talented jockeys go winless on horses that simply don't win very often. But it does mean the combination hasn't yet found the right moment to deliver. Martin Keighley's yard at Luckley in Gloucestershire has sent out 19 winners this season, so the stable is clearly in decent form — Yes Indeed just hasn't been the one to contribute to that tally.

The class picture is telling. In 13 races at Class 3 level — one step below the top tier — Yes Indeed has won zero times. Both career victories came in lower-grade company, which suggests this horse is operating slightly above its most comfortable level on a regular basis. Keighley himself noted after one run that a flatter track might suit, that the horse jumps well and does things right — the kind of trainer-speak that translates to "better than the result suggests, but not quite finding the extra gear." That's a fair summary of a career that has delivered moments of promise without ever fully cashing them in.

Raced just yesterday and still active, Yes Indeed is nothing if not durable. At nine, with two wins already banked in 2025, there may yet be another afternoon where everything clicks. Don't bet the house on it — but don't write it off either.
